Meet your Instructor

EMMA ROWLAND-ELSEN

Hi, I’m Emma: Sound-Voice Therapist, Choral Conductor, Singing Teacher, and Stress & Anxiety Coach. I’m also the creator of the VagalVox™ Method, a voice-led approach to nervous system healing and emotional release.
I didn’t create this method in a lab. I created it on the bathroom floor during my own PTSD breakdown - when breathing exercises weren’t enough.  After years of working with the voice and studying trauma-informed stress relief, I built the VagalVox™ Method to help women reclaim their emotional clarity, calm their nervous systems, and reconnect to themselves, not through breath alone, but through sound, music, and voice.  This isn’t about singing pretty, it’s about making noise that heals.

Why the VagalVox™ Method?

VagalVox™ Method is a form of vocal therapy.  It uses a simple programme of vocalisation and breathing exercises to stimulate the vagus nerve—an essential component of your body’s ability to relax and recover from stress.

What does the Course Involve?

This course uses a combination of vocal sounds, such as humming, yawning, chants and vocal toning.  There is no need to have any experience in singing at all – and it definitely doesn’t have to sound pretty!  

The steps of the programme have been structured in a specific order so that the voice is activated gradually without overstimulating the voice, doing vocal damage, or limiting the beneficial effects of the method.   Each section features demonstration videos and comes with a downloadable resource so that you can practice at leisure.
