The VagalVox™ Method

Feel again. Fast.
What if your Voice is the Healing Tool you've been Missing?

The VagalVox™ Method is the first Voice-Informed Nervous-System Technique in the World.

Everyone talks about breathwork, but the VagalVox™ Method works with the part of the breath most people ignore: your voice.  The vagus nerve (your body's emotional command centre) doesn’t just respond to deep breathing - it responds to vocal vibration, sound, tone, resonance.  When you access it through your voice, you don’t just calm down, you regulate stress, release stuck emotion, and come home to your body.

Most People don't know what the Voice is Truly Capable of.

But I’ve spent the last decade living at the intersection of vocal technique, trauma recovery, nervous system science, and the raw human need to be heard.

As a PTSD survivor, I looked for all sorts of ways to regulate my nervous system and calm my body and mind. Nightmares, flashbacks, panic attacks and living on edge are just some of the joys of having experienced trauma, as I did.
I hated every session of talk therapy, meditation and breathwork that I tried.  I didn't get on with antidepressants and I definitely didn't have the patience to journal.  When it got really tough, I'd scream.  I'd grunt, cry, moan and sing.  And it worked - it moved the shock through my system.  And I wanted to know why.

I didn't set out to create a method, I set out to survive.  VagalVox™ is the only thing that reached me - and now you can try it too.

It's not about Singing Pretty, it's about Making Noise that Heals.

"I screamed, I sobbed, I made raw, human noise.  VagalVox™ was born in my darkest moments that nothing else could reach.”

- EMMA ROWLAND-ELSEN

Not Woo, just Overdue

Voice has been part of human healing for thousands of years - long before therapy rooms and yoga studios existed.
Crying, chanting, singing, groaning, yelling into a pillow: they're all human instinct.

But somewhere along the way, we were told to stay quiet, to sit still, breathe deeply. And that’s where most healing methods stop.

VagalVox™ goes further, because your nervous system doesn't just need stillness, sometimes it needs sound, movement, expression, release.

We've forgotten how powerful the human voice really is. It's time to make some noise.

What Vagal Actually Means (aka the “Not Boring” Science bit)

“Vagal” means: connected to your vagus nerve.

The vagus nerve is the longest nerve in your body. It runs from your brainstem to your belly—connecting your voice, lungs, heart, and gut. It’s basically your body’s emotional WiFi—constantly scanning: Am I safe? Can I let go?

And here’s the best part:

The vagus nerve runs right through your voice box. So, when you use your voice—when you tone, hum, moan, cry, roar—you’re not just making noise, you’re rewiring your nervous system.

It is the fastest, most human hack for emotional regulation, and once you know how to use it—you can change how you feel in minutes.

Benefits of the VagalVox™ Method and Vagus Nerve Stimulation:

✅ Melt stress fast — Feel calm and grounded, even under pressure.
✅ Sleep deeper — Soothe the system so your body can finally rest.
✅ Digest better — Calm your gut by calming your vagus nerve.
✅ Build confidence — Use your voice in ways that make you feel bigger, bolder, more you.
✅ Strengthen boundaries — Reconnect to the parts of you that know when to say “no.”
✅ Speak up — Whether it’s a whisper or a roar, reclaim your right to express.
✅ Feel stronger — Recover faster from stress and stay steady in life’s chaos.
✅ Protect your voice — Learn safe, powerful vocal habits that serve your whole self.

Sound - not Silence - is your way Back to Yourself

The VagalVox™ Method is a repeatable and accessible method that bridges breath, sound and emotion. Based on the Four Pillars: Release, Regulate, Reclaim and Real-World, The VagalVox™ Method takes you step-by-step through the stages needed to claim yourself, whether that's to calm down, speak up or fight back.

How it Works

The VagalVox™ Method blends:
  • 🔊 Somatic voicework – to help you unlock sound that shifts your state
  • 🧠 Nervous system education – so you understand what’s happening in your body
  • 🌬️ Breath + body practices – to prep your system for release
  • 📓 Vocal journaling – to track emotional patterns and growth
  • 🎶 Music & ritual – to turn healing into something embodied, creative, and sustainable

Who it's For

This is for women who:
  • Are tired of being stuck in their heads and want to get back in their bodies
  • Have tried breathwork and meditation but need something more visceral
  • Feel flat, frozen, burnt out—or like they’re one bad email away from a breakdown
  • Are ready to stop self-silencing and start making noise that heals.

Why is it just for Women?

Technically, it's not.  The VagalVox™ Method will work for anyone, but my coaching work focuses on women due to the intersection of my particular specialties.
This is for women who have outgrown "calm down culture" and are ready to take the reins. No singing experience needed. Just a body, a voice, and the courage to feel.
